Real marzipan for coating cakes

Marzipan is a mass based on peeled and crushed almonds with sugar. There are many recipes and in general, the higher the proportion of almonds, the higher the quality. It is suitable for coating, modeling, but also as a filling for cakes, desserts and pralines. It is suitable for making decorations for wedding and Christmas cookies.
Marzipan needs to be worked well so that it has the consistency of modeling clay. The hardening of the products takes about two days, so the decorations must be prepared several days in advance.
It can be easily colored with gel colors . It should be taken into account that it is not white, but slightly yellowish. Therefore, the resulting shade is slightly different than when using a classic fondant coating. However, its natural color is very popular for making wedding cakes. Both for its almond taste and for its light champagne shade.

Store it in plastic bags and closed containers so that it does not dry out and therefore does not harden.
